Where did you study? Ferris State university in Big Rapids, MI. I am currently studying at Texas A&M for a Master’s in Real Estate and Construction Law
What are the requirements to be a surveyor in your area? My area requires a four year degree
How did you get into surveying? I got into surveying 20 years ago and I just fell into it. At the time I just needed a job, and 20 years later, here I am!
Are you part of any associations or organisations you would like us to mention? Yes, I am an active member of MSPS (Michigan Society Of Professional Surveyors)
Why do you want to be a GKiS Brand Ambassador? I believe in being a part of the solution. Surveying is not a profession that is marketed that well and in order for us to grow we all need to do a better job of doing just that.
Why is it important for kids to know about surveying and the wider geospatial industry?They need to know about it as a future career option. Most kids grow up wanting to be a police officer or firefighter. I want Land Surveyor to be a part of that list.
What are you going to do as an ambassador for GKiS? Visit local schools as well as market GKis to my state organization to get more and more involvement.
What are your hobbies? Football, Golf, spending time with my daughter.
