How did you get into surveying? Executive Director for the Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
What are your plans as a Brand Ambassador? To share information about the career opportunities that exist in the surveying field, especially as it relates to the K-12 subgroup. To speak about and promote #Surveying and professional licensure whenever and wherever, possible.
Tell us a bit about what you do: Our agency is responsible for the review and approval for applications from individuals and firms to practice engineering and / or surveying in the State of Mississippi. In addition, we are also responsible for investigating complaints against licensees. Increasingly, we are also being responsive to K-12 outreach requests to introduce youth to career opportunities in engineering and surveying.
Anything else you’d like to add? As a state Agency we are responsible for $600,000 in grants fund on a biannual basis for ABET accredited engineering and surveying programs in the State of Mississippi.
