What's the Project?

GKiS are partnering with organisations to create a premium, limited-edition educational board game that introduces young people to the world of surveying, applications and tools of the trade, through the medium of gameplay and fun!

On December the 10th we are hosting a webinar which is your chance to hear the story behind the project, see how the game works, and learn why global industry support is essential right now.

WHY a board game?

Because the talent pipeline needs us.

We’re facing a global challenge: fewer young people understand what surveying and geospatial careers are, or why they matter. GKiS Monopoly tackles that challenge head-on, through a format families, schools, and communities already love.

It’s an exciting new way to get surveying careers in front of families all over the world

Players roll dice to move around the board.
When you land on an unowned property, you may buy it.
If another player owns it, you pay them rent.
You can build houses and hotels on properties you own to increase rent.
There are also Chance and Community Chest cards, taxes, utilities, railroads, and the Go to Jail space.
The goal is to be the last player with money after everyone else goes bankrupt.

This fully customised board and game play will expose families and children to the inner workings, applications and tools used in the surveying profession, with the globally recognised cartoon style that we have become famous for. Customisable elements include the tokens, properties on the board, Community Chest and Chance cards, and even the box itself.
