Introducing Brand Ambassador Rafael Bombacini from Colorado Springs area of Colorado, USA!
How did you get into surveying? I got into the geospatial industry through land surveying. As my career progressed, I became more involved with GIS and saw how surveying, mapping, and spatial data could work together. That eventually led me to Esri, where I now work.
What are your plans as a Brand Ambassador? My plan as an ambassador is to share my experience in surveying and GIS, connect with others in the geospatial community, and help introduce more people, especially students and young professionals, to the opportunities available in the geospatial industry.
Tell us a bit about what you do: I’m a Senior Product Engineer at Esri, working on ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric. I use my land surveying background to help design, test, and improve tools for cadastral mapping, parcel management, and land records.
Anything else you’d like to add? I believe surveying and GIS are becoming more connected every day. I’m especially passionate about introducing geospatial technology to younger generations and showing students that geography, surveying, and GIS can lead to exciting careers.
