Celebrating Women In Geospatial

Celebrating careers that make us feel fulfilled... Let's show the girls that any career is possible with the wide range of women geospatial role models!

Promoting women in geospatial careers is important for increasing diversity, creativity, and fairness. Women offer unique ideas and problem-solving skills, improving solutions to global issues like climate change and city planning. Their involvement helps meet the growing demand for workers in the geospatial field and supports fairness by reducing income and leadership gaps between men and women.

Read our blog which highlights some of the resources available to help with outreach to kids in this sector.

GKiS Brand Growth

'Inspire future geospatial experts'

Last year Get Kids into Survey decided to focus on brand growth as it’s our aim to ‘Inspire future geospatial experts’, in order to do this we need to get in front of as many people as possible who will help towards our mission. Very kindly Topcon facilitated the expansion of our Brand Ambassador programme by sponsoring the creation of the Brand Ambassador Hub. This is the start of a very exciting journey to build up a community of like minded surveyors who enjoy going out and doing outreach to the next generation.

A Key Role

Subsea surveying plays a key role in environmental protection, resource management, and supporting the development of renewable energy projects like offshore wind farms.

Educating young people fosters a sense of environmental responsibility and prepares them to contribute to sustainable marine practices. This sector’s involvement in ocean conservation and renewable energy initiatives makes it essential for young professionals to understand both technological and ecological aspects, helping to ensure that future exploration and development activities align with climate and sustainability goals.

This is why at GKiS we thought it was time to bring awareness to this sector of the industry by focussing our next resource the ‘Winter’ poster on some of these topics.
